Delhi Liquor Scam: The petition of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will be heard in Delhi High Court today on 3rd April. Kejriwal has filed a petition against his arrest. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed an affidavit in the High Court on the evening of April 2 on Kejriwal's petition. ED said that Arvind Kejriwal is the kingpin of the liquor scam. ED said in its affidavit that the entire liquor policy of Delhi was prepared by Kejriwal.What did ED say to the court?ED names Aam Aadmi Party as the main beneficiary of the liquor scam proceeds. ED told the court that Aam Aadmi Party has benefited the most from the Delhi liquor scam money. ED said that AAP has committed the crime of money laundering through Arvind Kejriwal. The party spent around Rs 45 crore in the Goa Assembly elections 2022 amid liquor scam. The money was sent to Goa through Hawala. These crimes come under Section 70 of PMLA 2002."Many opportunities were given to cooperate in the investigation"ED mentioned the statement of witness ND Gupta in its affidavit. ED said that Kejriwal was directly involved in making the policy. The investigating agency said that they sent nine summons to Kejriwal and gave him several opportunities to cooperate in the investigation of the case. However, Kejriwal deliberately did not obey the agency's order. Every time he made some excuse or the other and did not join the investigation.Kejriwal had filed a petition in HC on March 23.Let us tell you that Arvind Kejriwal, lodged in Tihar Jail, had filed a petition in the High Court on March 23 against his arrest. The High Court had issued a notice to ED on March 27 and sought its reply by April 2. The matter will be heard today on April 3. Apart from his arrest, Kejriwal has also challenged the remand decision of the Rouse Avenue Court. Actually, he was arrested on March 21. The next day, Rouse Avenue Court sent him on ED remand till March 28, which was later extended till April 1. On April 1, the court sent him to Tihar in judicial custody till April 15.
