Hemant Soren won the confidence motion in Jharkhand, got majority, 45 votes were cast in favor

Jharkhand Politics: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday faced a majority test for his government in the assembly. During this, he won the trust vote. After winning the trust vote, the cabinet will be expanded. Ministers will be made from JMM, RJD and Congress quota in the state. At the same time, political stir was seen in the state before the floor test. Chief Minister Hemant Soren had a meeting with the leaders of the ruling coalition late night at his residence.

In this meeting, there was a discussion about the floor test and cabinet expansion. After the meeting, Congress leader Pradeep Yadav had said that we all know that winning the floor test is not difficult as we have sufficient numbers. After getting approval from the Raj Bhavan, preparations are on for the oath taking of ministers at Birsa Munda Stadium from 3 pm today. Along with this, the cabinet will also be expanded. At the same time, BJP has said on the Soren government that the corrupt government has returned to the state.

Majority test in Jharkhand Assembly

• After the floor test, the assembly has been adjourned indefinitely. No opposition member stood up during the counting of votes in the House against the confidence motion, so the number against the motion was considered zero. The opposition was creating a ruckus in the well during voting by not standing at its designated place, while independent MLA Saryu Rai remained neutral.
• The Hemant Soren government has won the trust vote in the House and 45 votes were cast in its favor.
• 45 MLAs of the India Alliance are currently present in the House. The India Alliance needs 39 MLAs for the trust vote.
• The proceedings of the Jharkhand Assembly have begun. After the discussion on the trust vote, voting will be held to prove the majority.

Number game in Jharkhand Assembly

48-year-old Hemant took oath as the Chief Minister on July 4, within a week of getting bail in the money laundering case related to the alleged land scam. If we talk about the majority figure, then at present the number of members in the 81-member assembly is 76 because four MLAs have reached Parliament by winning the Lok Sabha elections. In which two are from BJP and two from JMM. At the same time, Sita Soren, a JMM MLA, resigned from the post before joining the BJP in March. She is Hemant Soren's sister-in-law. 39 MLAs were needed to prove majority in the Jharkhand Assembly. The JMM had claimed that it has an absolute majority.

It was claimed that out of 76 MLAs, the India Alliance has 46, but 45 votes were cast in favor. At the same time, the BJP-led NDA has 30 MLAs, so the NDA was far from the majority figure. Jharkhand Congress spokesperson Satish Paul Munjini said that he is fully prepared to win the floor test. When Hemant presented his claim to form the government before Governor CP Radhakrishnan on July 3, he had said that he had the support of 44 MLAs.

Hemant Soren spent five months in jail

Hemant Soren has spent five months in jail and was granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court on June 28, after which it was said that he could once again become the Chief Minister. These speculations proved to be correct. In fact, Champai Soren resigned from his post just five months after taking oath, which raised the possibility of Hemant Soren becoming the Chief Minister again. Champai Soren was sworn in as the 12th Chief Minister of Jharkhand at the Raj Bhavan on February 2 this year. Hemant Soren's move to again occupy the seat of power in the state is considered a big gamble because there are elections in the state at the end of this year.

At the same time, after Hemant Soren was elected the leader of the legislative party, Champai Soren submitted his resignation to the Governor. In such a situation, now Hemant Soren presented a confidence motion in the state assembly, in which his allies got a total of 45 votes.
