He said, "The Hindu population is declining rapidly in both Assam and Bangladesh. The 2021 census data will likely provide more detailed information. CM Himanta Biswa Sharma also included a graphic with his post, which showed that the Hindu population in Assam has decreased to 61.47 percent in 2011, which was 70.78 percent in 1951, while in Bangladesh it has decreased from 22 percent to 8.5 percent in the same period. On the other hand, the Muslim population in Assam increased from 25.37 percent to 34.23 percent in a period of 60 years, while in Bangladesh it increased from 76 percent to 90.4 percent.
