Haryana Election 2024: Congress has revealed its new election campaign strategy for the Haryana assembly elections. The party has announced its candidates on 89 out of 90 assembly seats, while giving one seat to the Left party, CPM. Congress has also clarified that the party has given tickets to all its sitting MLAs in the assembly elections, that is, the ticket of any sitting MLA has not been cut.

Dominance of Hooda camp

Former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda's camp is clearly dominating the Congress ticket distribution. However, two prominent leaders—Lok Sabha MP Kumari Selja and Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Singh Surjewala—have not been given tickets for the assembly elections. Both the leaders were being seen as potential contenders for the post of Chief Minister. The party says that contesting elections is not mandatory to become CM, which reflects the party's strategy regarding these decisions.

Opportunity for young leadership

The Congress has fielded Randeep Singh Surjewala's son Aditya Surjewala from Kaithal. Apart from this, Bijendra Singh, son of Chaudhary Birendra Singh, who recently joined Congress from BJP, has been given ticket from Uchana. Vikas Saharan, son of Lok Sabha MP Jaiprakash, has been fielded from Kalayat. Kumari Selja tried to get a ticket for her nephew from Uklana seat, but the party has given ticket to Naresh Selwal on this seat.

Seven tickets from Selja's camp

Seven candidates from Kumari Selja's camp have got tickets, including four sitting MLAs and three new faces. In contrast, two tickets have been given from Surjewala's camp - one for his son Aditya Surjewala and the other for Satbir Dublain from Narwana.

Unsuccessful attempt at alliance

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had suggested in the party's CEC meeting that the Congress should form an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). However, Bhupinder Singh Hooda raised his objections against the suggestion, ending the possibility of an alliance between the two parties. The two parties could not reach a consensus on seat sharing. Meanwhile, the Congress has decided to give the Bhiwani seat to the Left party.

AAP's strong presence

The Aam Aadmi Party has announced its candidates for all 90 seats for the Haryana Assembly elections. The party on Thursday announced the names of 19 candidates in its sixth list and included one more candidate in the seventh list. AAP is putting all its might to make its strong presence felt in Haryana this time and hopes of an alliance with the Congress are now over.

Conclusion

Both Congress and AAP are in the fray with their respective strategies for the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024. Congress has given a message of stability by giving tickets to its sitting MLAs, while AAP has made its preparation clear by fielding candidates on all seats. Now it will be interesting to see which party moves towards victory in this electoral battle and whose dominance remains in Haryana politics.
