India-Pakistan match on June 9, final on June 29 - T20 World Cup schedule announced

T20 World Cup 2024: ICC T20 World Cup is to be organized this year to be hosted by West Indies and America. International Cricket Council has released the schedule of this tournament. Fans were waiting for this for a long time and this wait ended on Friday. A total of 20 teams are participating in this tournament, which have been divided into 4 groups of five each. West Indies had organized the T20 World Cup in the year 2010 but after this it has now become the host again. This time however it is joint host with America. America will host a Cricket World Cup match for the first time. The match between India and Pakistan is to be held on June 9.

ICC has made four groups named A, B, C, D and there are five teams in each group. After the group stage there will be Super-8 again. After this there will be semi-finals and final. The last T20 World Cup was played in Australia in which England defeated Pakistan in the final. The Indian team was eliminated after losing to England in the semi-finals. The first match will be between Uganda and America on June 1. The final match will be held on June 29.

Groups are like this

The Indian team has been placed in Group-A. Along with this team, the remaining four teams are Pakistan, Ireland, Canada and America. Whereas in Group-B there are England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland and Oman. Group C includes New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda and Papua New Guinea. Group D includes South Africa along with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Nepal.

How is the schedule

The group stage will start from June 1 and will continue till June 18. After this there will be Super-8 stage which will run till June 24. The Indian team will play its match against Pakistan on June 9 in New York. However, the Indian team will play its first match against Ireland on June 5. This team will play against America on June 12 and Canada on June 15. India has to play its first three matches in New York, while the team will play the match against Canada in Florida. The semi-final matches will be played on June 26-27.
