New Delhi : The central government has dismissed the IPS officer of Gujarat cadre Satish Chandra Verma from service. Satish Verma was part of the SIT in the Ishrat Jahan encounter case. Satish Chandra Verma was scheduled to retire on 30 September, but before that the government has dismissed her from service.Sources say that Verma, a 1986 batch officer, has been dismissed on the basis of departmental proceedings against him. Verma has appealed to the Supreme Court against the decision of the Delhi High Court.The central government on August 30 informed the Delhi High Court about the order of dismissal, where Verma challenged the departmental proceedings against him. The High Court had allowed the government to implement the dismissal order from 19 September. Verma's lawyer Sarim Naved said- "We still have time till September. We have approached the Supreme Court. "Challenging the High Court order, Verma, who is currently posted in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), said in his petition in the apex court "The High Court has given its consent to the Center's decision, in which the petitioner It has been dismissed from service. It is to be noted here that the petitioner is retiring on September 30. It is not acceptable as per the statutory rules of All India Services. "Significantly, earlier the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued a charge memo to Verma in September 2018, although he was alleged that he was the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Neepco (North Eastern Electric Power Corporation) in July 2016 Was freed from the post, but he kept the files with him for a long time and did not handover. Many other disciplinary allegations have been made against him, including talking to the media in the case.Ishrat Jahan encounter in 2004As the investigating officer of the Ishrat case, Verma filed an affidavit in the Gujarat High Court in 2011 that 19 -year -old Ishrat was killed in a fake encounter in June 2004, two more people were killed in the encounter. It was claimed that the three had a relationship with the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. When Ishrat case was transferred to the CBI, Verma remained associated with the investigation team on the instructions of the Gujarat High Court.
