BCCI vs PCB - Jai Shah exposed PCB chief in this way – told Najam Sethi a 'liar'
BCCI vs PCB: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) are at loggerheads once again. Both are retaliating on each other one after the other. At the center of this entire tussle are Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah and PCB chairman Najam Sethi. A day earlier, on Thursday, the new PCB chief Sethi made some scathing allegations against ACC president Jay Shah. A day later, on Friday, ACC President Shah denied all those allegations and termed them as baseless.

Najam Sethi made sharp allegations against Jai Shah

In fact, ACC President Shah shared the two-year calendar (ACC) on Twitter on Thursday. Sethi then alleged that the ACC did not give any information to the PCB before sharing the programme.

Reacting strongly to this, Sethi tweeted, "Thank you Jay Shah for unilaterally releasing the new ACC structure and calendar 2023-24, especially when Pakistan is the host of the Asia Cup 2023." When you are deciding everything by yourself, you can also go through our PSL 2023 Calendar. Its reply is awaited.

Jai Shah gave a befitting reply to Najam Sethi

The ACC said in its statement released on Friday that the PCB along with other member countries were informed about the schedule on 22 December 2022 itself but there was no response from the PCB side. According to the schedule announced by ACC President Shah, the Asia Cup is to be played in ODI format in September 2023 but it does not mention the host country.

As BCCI secretary, Shah has already said in October 2022 that India will not tour Pakistan for this tournament. Responding to Sethi's allegations, the ACC said on Friday, "It has come to our notice that PCB chairman Najam Sethi is terming the calendar issued by ACC chairman Shah as a unilateral decision." ACC would like to clarify that it has followed the correct procedure in this matter.

The ACC also shared a 'timeline' with the media in this statement which implies that the PCB chairman was lying. It said, “The calendar was released by its Development Committee and Finance and Marketing Committee in a meeting held on 13 December 2022.” The calendar was communicated to all the participating members including PCB through an e-mail on 22nd December 2022.

The PCB did not seek any modification in the proposed calendar in the last two weeks and hence the schedule was made public. As such, all the comments made by Sethi on social media platforms are baseless and ACC strongly refutes the same."
