SCO Summit 2024: Pakistan is hosting the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit this time, in which India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar participated and reprimanded it from Pakistan's soil itself. In his speech, Jaishankar gave a clear message by cornering Pakistan on the issues of terrorism and regional sovereignty. Along with this, he also slammed China on the issue of violation of India's sovereignty.Direct attack on PakistanTaking aim at Pakistan, Jaishankar said that if there is a rift in regional relations, or there is a lack of cooperation, then the reasons behind it should be looked into. He also said that if a selective attitude is adopted on global issues, especially trade and transport, then development will not be possible.Emphasis on terrorism and sovereigntyJaishankar, while referring to the charter of SCO at the beginning of his address, said that it is clearly written in it that the objective of the organization is to strengthen mutual trust, friendship and good neighborly relations. He said that the challenges mentioned in the charter of SCO are more relevant today than ever before. Among these, terrorism, separatism and extremism are prominent, which the organization is committed to deal with. Jaishankar said that the solution to these challenges is possible only when all member countries work together.Pakistan-China move on Kashmir issueBefore the SCO Summit, a meeting was held between the Prime Ministers of Pakistan and China, in which the issue of Kashmir was raised. In the joint statement issued after this meeting, China talked about resolving the Kashmir issue peacefully and supported resolving it under the Charter of the United Nations. Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and China Prime Minister Li Qiang discussed regional issues in this meeting, in which Pakistan appreciated China's support.
