BJP on Tuesday came out strongly in aid of Union Minister Narayan Rane, who has been arrested with the aid of using Maharashtra police after he made remarks in opposition to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. The party’s countrywide president J.P. Nadda termed the arrest “a contravention of constitutional values”.
Taking to Twitter, Mr Nadda stated, “The arrest of Union Minister Narayan Rane Ji with the aid of using the Maharashtra authorities is a contravention of constitutional values. We will neither be scared nor suppressed with the aid of using such movement. These people are stricken by the massive aid the BJP is getting withinside the Jan-Aashirvad Yatra. We will keep combating democratically, the yatra will continue.”
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra termed the arrest a “homicide of democracy”.
“This is a critical matter and a matter of concern. This is the homicide of democracy. He must have stated a few phrases which could have been avoided. But is that this the tolerance of the Uddhav authorities is that this the regulation,” Mr Patra stated, addressing a presser in New Delhi at the issue.
Mr Patra similarly stated, “Some ministers of Maharashtra are announcing that the regulation needs to be followed, however, is there a regulation to pelt stones at BJP offices? Is it regulation to position people’s lives at risk? Is it regulation to report 30-forty FIRs in opposition to a minister?"
Mr Patra stated instances registered in opposition to ministers withinside the Uddhav Thackeray authorities and compare them to the precipitate movement in opposition to Mr Rane.
“There are instances in opposition to 27 ministers out of 42 of the Maharashtra authorities. There are allegations of recovery on Anil Deshmukh, there are numerous allegations in opposition to Anil Parab too. Were they arrested, did the police visit their homes,” he asked.
