Kolkata Knight Riders beat Lucknow Super Giants by 8 wickets

KKR vs LSG: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for the first time in the Indian Premier League (IPL). This is Kolkata's fourth win in the 17th season. In the 28th match of the season, Kolkata defeated Lucknow by 8 wickets on Sunday. Kolkata won the toss and decided to bowl first at the Eden Garden Stadium. Batting first, Lucknow scored 161 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Kolkata achieved the target by losing 2 wickets in 15.4 overs. For Kolkata, opener Phil Salt scored an unbeaten half-century (89 runs).

Left hand batsman Nicholas Puran scored the most runs for LSG. He played an innings of 45 runs on 32 balls. Apart from them, captain KL Rahul scored 39 runs and Ayush Badoni scored 29 runs. Mitchell Starc took three wickets for Kolkata. Vaibhav Arora, Andre Russell, Varun Chakraborty and Sunil Narine got one wicket each.

Opener Phil Salt scored an unbeaten half-century for Kolkata while chasing the target. He scored 89 runs on 47 balls. Apart from him, captain Shreyas Iyer scored unbeaten 38 runs. Sunil Narine scored 6 runs and Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 7 runs. Mohsin Khan took both the wickets for Lucknow.
