Telangana CM Revanth Reddy: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy made remarks against women members of the opposition party. Terming the CM's remarks as derogatory, Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) MLAs protested in the Assembly on Thursday demanding an apology from him. At the same time, Revanth Reddy retorted that he has always respected women and sisters. As soon as the proceedings of the House began, BRS MLAs wearing black badges stood up and started raising slogans.During the discussion on the bill to set up a skill university in the state, the MLAs went near the Speaker's chair and started sloganeering. Despite repeated requests by Assembly Speaker G Prasad Kumar to return to their seats, the BRS MLAs continued their protest. AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi asked the Assembly Speaker to either give the BRS members a chance to speak or suspend them so that order is maintained in the House. Later, marshals ousted BRS working president KT Rama Rao and others from the Assembly.Call for statewide protestThe opposition party on Thursday called for a statewide protest against the chief minister's remarks. Chief Minister Reddy later blamed the BRS for not participating in the debate on the skill university.
