Buses and freight vehicles will have to ply in designated lanes in the capital from Friday. At present, this rule will be mandatory on this category of vehicles for 15 days. After this this rule will be applicable to all types of vehicles.DTC and Cluster buses will stop inside the box provided at the stop. Action will be taken against the bus drivers for ignoring the rules. Enforcement team of Transport Department, DTC and 50 teams of cluster and traffic police will remain on the roads to ensure lane driving. In the first phase, special attention will be given to buses, so that the movement of vehicles can be made accessible by walking in the lane. However, due to the strictness enforced on lane driving, there may be a traffic jam on the roads. According to departmental officials, lanes and boxes have been made for the convenience of buses. They have to walk in the designated lane only.During this time, if any other vehicle is parked in the lane earmarked for buses, then it will be pulled and taken away by crane. The departmental officers have also appealed to the general public to cooperate in the implementation of lane driving. Leave the lane designated for buses, so that there is no problem in traffic management. The transport department has already given instructions to those who violate the rules. For the first time breaking the rule will have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000. Repeated breakers can also be booked, including cancellation of their licenses and permits. It is being implemented in the first phase on all roads of Delhi for buses.
