Two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were gunned down in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on Monday night. Now the Kashmir Police has informed on Tuesday that these terrorists wanted to target the Amarnath Yatra. A policeman was also injured in the encounter in Bemina area. A local terrorist was also among the three terrorists killed.
Kashmir Zone Police tweeted, 'Pakistan handlers sent two Pakistan terrorists of two LeT with the intention of attacking a local terrorist Adil Hussain Mir from Pahalgam living in Pakistan since 2018.' Amarnath Yatra is starting from 30th June.On Monday, the police have described this operation against the terrorists as a big success. Kashmir Zone Police quoted IG Vijay Kumar as saying, "According to documents and other material, one terrorist killed has been identified as Abdullah Ghaujri, a resident of Faisalabad. This is a huge success. The special thing is that two terrorists had escaped during the Sopore encounter.The special thing is that the government seems very cautious about the security during the Amarnath Yatra. Last week, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reviewed the preparations for the annual visit. In this regard, he had called a high level meeting at Raj Bhavan. The 43-day long journey is starting on 30. Apart from this, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had also called a big meeting regarding the preparations for the yatra.
