Lok Sabha to discuss no-confidence motion from August 8, PM to reply on August 10

No-confidence motion: The opposition's no-confidence motion against the Modi government will be discussed in the Lok Sabha on August 8, 9 and 10. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reply on the discussion on 10 August. The discussion will start in the House from 12 noon on August 8. A no-confidence motion was brought by the opposition against the central government on the issue of Manipur, which was accepted by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. During the discussion, Home Minister Amit Shah will intervene and give information and latest updates on the questions that will be raised during the discussion regarding Manipur.

A day before the commencement of the monsoon session of Parliament, a shocking and disturbing video surfaced from Manipur, in which 2 women were being paraded naked. Since then, the opposition has demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should speak on this in the House. However, before the commencement of the session, PM Modi gave a statement on this in the Parliament premises and strongly condemned it. He said that not a single allegation will be left out. Due to this, 140 crore people have bowed their heads.

At the same time, the demand of the opposition was that the government should discuss it in detail under Rule 267 and later PM Modi should answer. However, it was said on behalf of the government that it is ready for debate under rule 176. The government accused the opposition of running away. It has been said on behalf of the government that Amit Shah will answer in Parliament on the situation in Manipur. But the opposition was not ready for this.

Why did the opposition bring the no-confidence motion?

The opposition was adamant about its demand and kept creating ruckus. When the opposition did not see any other way out on this issue, the idea of bringing a no-confidence motion against the government was taken. The opposition says that at least the government will discuss this in the House. She knows that this no-confidence motion is not going to make any difference to the government. The government has the numbers, but through this we will be able to present our views on Manipur, there will be a discussion and then the Prime Minister will also have to answer.

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary had said that we wanted the Prime Minister himself to come and speak on Manipur. Don't know why they are not speaking? We were forced to bring a no-confidence motion. This is our compulsion. We know that this will not bring down the government, but we have no choice.

The answer to the no-confidence motion has always been given by the Prime Minister. For this purpose, the opposition has brought this no-confidence motion. Earlier in 2018 also a no-confidence motion was brought against the Modi government.
