Lord Krishna took bath in the embodied lake of Kurukshetra in Haryana on Solar Eclipse

Kurukshetra: The last solar eclipse of 2019 took place on 26 December. This time the most special thing is that this eclipse could be seen in India. The eclipse started at 8.17 in the morning and ended at 10.57 am. On the occasion, lakhs of devotees reached the holy city of Kurukshetra in Haryana to take bath. The embodied lake of Kurukshetra has mythological significance, only then it is important to bath here during the eclipse. 

Pandit Pawan Sharma, the tirtha purohit on the contiguous lake of Kurukshetra, states that it is said that by taking a dip in this Kund one gets as much virtue as one gets after performing the Ashwamegh Yagya. This pool is 1800 feet long and 1400 feet wide. According to the scriptures, all the gods are present here in Kurukshetra at the time of solar eclipse. It is believed that bathing in Brahma lake and contiguous lake on the occasion of solar eclipse leads to salvation.

On the eclipse, Shri Krishna had also taken a bath

Pandit Pawan Sharma said that Lord Krishna also came to Kurukshetra during the eclipse in Dwapar Yuga. Many kingdoms of Angas, Magad, Vats, Panchal, Kashi, Kaushal, many states of India came to Kurukshetra to bathe in large numbers. Lord Krishna, Akrur, Vasudeva, Ugrasena, Gad, Pradyumna, Samava etc. Yaduvanshi and his women also came to bathe Kurukshetra by handing the fort of Dwarka to Anirudh and Kritavarma. Then Gopis from Brijbhumi also reached to bathe. It was during this bath that they met Lord Krishna. Then Lord Krishna sat in a chariot and drove to Mathura, driving something. 

Embodied lake was Built due to solar eclipse

Pandit Pawan Sharma told that due to the mythological importance of the sun lake on solar eclipse, Sri Surya Narayan Temple has been built here. This temple was also constructed for this reason. After bathing in the lake, devotees offer prayers at this temple.
