Mumbai: Maharashtra 12th Board Exams Cancelled: In view of the covid-19 pandemic, the Maharashtra government on Thursday announced the cancellation of the Maharashtra Board HSC or class 12 board examination 2021. The decision to cancel the Maharashtra Board class 12 board examination was taken after the central government on June 1 canceled the CBSE class 12 board examination 2021 in view of the covid-19 pandemic. Earlier, the state government had cancelled the Maharashtra Class 10 or SSC board examination 2021 in wake of the surge in the covid-19 cases across the state. Maharashtra School Education Minister Versha Gaikwad had said that the students of the Maharashtra board class 10 will be evaluated on the basis of the internal assessment. It is expected that the students of the Maharashtra Board class 12 will be evaluated on the basis of the results of class 11th and pre boards examinations conducted by the respective schools. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this matter. The decision to cancel the CBSE class 12 board examination was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.After the meeting, PM Modi on his official Twitter handle wrote, "Government of India has decided to cancel the Class 12 CBSE Board Exams. After extensive consultations, we have taken a decision that is student-friendly, one that safeguards the health as well as future of our youth."
