After this, many people including Manoj Jarange Patil are claiming that Maratha society is basically from Kunbi caste. That is, if the Maratha community is given Kunbi certificate, then if it gets reservation, it will get benefit from OBC quota. At present the reservation under OBC quota in the state is 19 percent. Organizations of the OBC community believe that if the Maratha community is also included in it, then new people will get the benefit of reservation. Our protest is not against Maratha reservation but against giving them reservation from OBC.
