The ED team had raided his house at around 7 am on Wednesday. After this the ED had brought him with him. He was arrested after about six hours of interrogation.Arrest made in the case of purchase of crores of land shellsThe Enforcement Directorate (ED) had exposed the whole story after Malik's arrest. The ED had told the court that Minister Nawab Malik had allegedly grabbed a plot worth Rs 300 crore from Munira Plumber through a company for a few lakh rupees. The name of this company is Solids Investment Pvt. and the owner of the company is Malik family. The ED alleged that Malik was running the company with the help of fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena Parkar and other members of the D gang. In this regard, Munira the plumber told in a statement given to the ED that he had a plot of 3 acres in Gowala compound in Kurla. Salim Patel had taken five lakh rupees from him to vacate the illegal occupation and settle disputes on this land, but he sold this land to a third party, while Salim was never asked to sell the property. Not only this, on July 18, 2003, the paper related to transfer of ownership of the land was not signed. He was not aware that Salim Patel had sold this land to someone else.At the same time, after scrutinizing the documents related to this land, the ED came to know that Sardar Shahwali Khan is behind this, who is an accused in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts. He is serving life imprisonment in Aurangabad jail under DATA and MCOCA. Shahwali Khan had told the ED that Salim Patel was close to Haseena Parkar, sister of fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim. It was on the instructions of Hasina that Salim took all the decisions regarding Munira's land.
