A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. Eleven people died due to electrocution during a festival at a temple here. Police say that the incident happened during the Rath Yatra leaving the temple. It has also come to the fore that many people were injured in the incident.According to Thanjavur police, the incident took place at Appar temple in Kalimedu. After the Rath Yatra left the temple, when its turn came, the chariot could not be taken forward due to the net of wires laid above. However, as the chariot was reversed, it contacted the high-tension line and the current spread throughout the chariot. Some children have also been reported to have lost their lives in the incident.It has been told that three people were seriously injured in the incident and have been admitted to the medical college in Thanjavur itself. In the pictures of the accident that have come out, the chariot can be seen completely burning.
