Train Accident: There has been a massive collision between two trains in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh. Many bogies have derailed after the collision of trains. So far 10 passengers have died in the incident while many people are said to be injured. After the accident, the relief and rescue team has reached the spot and efforts are on to rescue the trapped people. According to the information, some bogies of Visakhapatnam-Rayagada Passenger (Train No. 08504) derailed after the collision with Visakhapatnam-Palasa Passenger (Train No. 08532) of Kantakappalli in Kothavalasa 'Mandal' (Block). Regarding the incident, Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed to take immediate relief measures and send as many ambulances as possible to the spot from the districts near Vizianagaram.

Passenger train was standing due to overhead cable being cut

Actually, Visakhapatnam-Rayagada passenger train was standing due to overhead cable being cut. At the same time, Visakhapatnam-Palasa passenger train came from behind on the same track and hit it. After the collision, three bogies of the passenger train derailed. The collision was so strong that one bogie was badly damaged.

Regarding the incident, Divisional Railway Manager has said that three coaches of the passenger train have been damaged in the accident. Information about the incident has been given to the local administration and NDRF. Accident relief train has also reached the spot. The injured are being taken to the local hospital through ambulance.

PM Modi spoke to the Railway Minister

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav regarding the train accident in Andhra Pradesh and obtained information related to the incident. The Prime Minister has expressed condolences to the bereaved families and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
