Akhil Gogoi, Anti-Civilization Amendment Act (CAA) activist and Raijor Dal leader Akhil Gogoi said on Sunday that Trinamool Parliament leader Mamata Banerjee had urged him to merge his group with his ruling party. "We look forward to forming a coalition of forces in the region and recommend Mamata Banerjee as a leader to remove Narendra Modi's government from power by 2024," he said.
Independent Assam MP Sibasagar said Banerjee guaranteed to make him chairman of TMC's Assam unit if he merged his group, Raijor Dal, with the old one.
"A decision on the matter is likely to be made at the meeting of our party's executive body during the day," he added. Gogoi said three rounds of negotiations between TMC and Raijor Dal on this issue have taken place.
