Manish Sisodia gets 3 days interim bail from court in excise policy case

Manish Sisodia: Rouse Avenue Court has granted bail to former Delhi Deputy CM and AAP leader Manish Sisodia in the Delhi Excise Policy case. The court has granted interim bail to Sisodia for 3 days. He has got this bail to attend his niece's wedding ceremony in Lucknow from 13 to 15 February.

What is the whole matter?

Actually Sisodia is lodged in Tihar jail in the excise policy case. Before this, he had gone to meet his wife Seema on November 11. Seema was unwell during that time. The Delhi court had allowed him to meet his wife on November 11 from 10 am to 5 pm.

The latest case is related to the marriage of Sisodia's niece. His niece's wedding is on February 14, for which Sisodia had sought bail. However, the court has given him relief and allowed him to attend his niece's wedding.

When was Sisodia arrested?

Sisodia was arrested by CBI on February 26 last year. This arrest was made in a case related to alleged liquor scam.

Allegation of confusion in the new excise policy

Actually, the Arvind Kejriwal government of Delhi had implemented the new excise policy in the new capital on 17 November 2021, but when questions started being raised on the policy and allegations of corruption started being made, the policy was canceled in September 2022. The Kejriwal government is accused of increasing the profit of wholesalers from 5 percent to 12 percent through the new policy. Along with this, monetary facilities were given to those ineligible for liquor license.

However, Kejriwal government and Aam Aadmi Party leaders say that in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the central government wants to wrongly arrest the opposition leaders and put them in jail. Manish Sisodia was doing good work in Delhi which was not liked by the opponents. Therefore, the central government is bent on putting the opposition leaders in jail one by one.

Let us tell you that the ED, which is investigating money laundering in the Delhi Excise case, has also sent summons to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. ED has issued summons to Kejriwal six times so far. In response to the summons, Kejriwal has also asked many questions to the ED.
