Delhi Liquor Scam: Former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia did not get bail in the Delhi Liquor Scam case. Delhi High Court did not grant bail to Sisodia. The High Court refused to grant bail to Sisodia in the liquor scam case and money laundering case. On May 14, the High Court had reserved its decision. Today, while giving the verdict, the bench of Justice Swarnakanta Sharma rejected the bail plea of Sisodia. Now Sisodia will approach the Supreme Court against the decision of Delhi High Court.Allegation of benefiting private businessmen by making liquor policyManish Sisodia was arrested on 26 February 2023 and has been in jail for about 15 months. Sisodia is accused of benefiting private businessmen by making liquor policy. It is alleged that this liquor policy caused loss to the government exchequer and funds were raised through liquor scam which were also used in the Goa elections. Manish Sisodia was the minister of excise department and is accused of taking decisions against the excise policy. Not only this, according to ED and CBI, Sisodia is also accused of hiding evidence. Sisodia exchanged 14 phones and 43 SIM cards. Five of these SIMs were in the name of Sisodia. Today Delhi High Court refused to grant bail to Sisodia.Sisodia was arrested on 26 February last yearSisodia was first arrested by CBI in the liquor scam. This arrest took place last year i.e. on 26 February 2023. The very next month i.e. on March 9, ED arrested Sisodia in a money laundering case related to this. Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, arrested in a money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor scam, is serving his sentence in Tihar Jail. Let us tell you that Manish Sisodia was arrested last year on 26 February 2023 and since then he has not got any relief. Rouse Avenue Court had earlier extended the judicial custody of Manish Sisodia several times.Voting is on 25th May in DelhiManish Sisodia had sought bail to campaign in the Lok Sabha elections, but voting for the five phases of the Lok Sabha elections has ended and voting will be held on all seven seats in Delhi on May 25. In such a situation, Sisodia had filed his application in the court regarding the election campaign.
