Heat wave conditions prevail over most parts of North India. Apart from this, the mercury is continuously rising in Central India as well. Along with the common people, animals and birds are also suffering due to rising temperature. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Sunday due to severe heatwave in the national capital Delhi. On Saturday, the hottest April was recorded in the capital in five years. Earlier, the maximum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 43.2 degree Celsius on April 21, 2017. The Meteorological Department said in its warning that this is the first time in 72 years that Delhi has recorded such a high temperature in the first fortnight of April.

In these states too

Extremely hot conditions are being witnessed over most parts of Rajasthan and some parts of Gujarat. Alwar, Ganganagar, Phalodi and Churu districts of Rajasthan and Kandla airport in Gujarat have crossed 45 degrees. The effect of heat wave will still be strong in Barmer, Jalore, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur. The rise in temperature to 45 degree in the first half of April is a matter of concern. In many districts of North Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh, maximum between 43 and 44 degrees has been recorded. In western UP, the temperature has crossed 40 degrees amidst the heat wave. People are facing problems due to hot winds. In the afternoon too few people came out in the markets. At the same time, school children also had to face trouble. Similarly, on Saturday also people were troubled by the stinging sun and hot winds since morning. By noon, it was raining like fire from the sky. At the same time, there is a possibility of heat wave in Gaya, Aurangabad and Sasaram of Bihar due to high temperature.

Chances of rain in these states

The rain is likely to continue over the northeastern Indian states of Assam and Meghalaya for the next five days. Parts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu are also likely to receive heavy rains on Sunday. However, it has been raining in many states of Northeast India for almost a week. According to the India Meteorological Department, under the influence of strong southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal to the northeastern states at lower troposphere levels, there is a possibility of widespread rain and thundershowers over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim. Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely to occur over Arunachal Pradesh on April 10 and 13, over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal-Sikkim on April 10, Assam and Meghalaya on April 12.

Due to these reasons it is getting hot

This heat wave can be attributed to prolonged dry spells during March and early April as well as dry and hot winds blowing from Balochistan, central Pakistan and the Thar desert of Rajasthan. There was no Activity Disturbance over the Western Himalayas during the first week of March and April. Absence of Western Disturbance over Northwest India and pre-monsoon activities are also responsible for this scorching heat over Northwest and Central parts of the country.
