IND vs BAN: Hindu Mahasabha has strongly opposed the T20 international cricket match between India and Bangladesh to be held on October 6 in Gwalior. Protest by Hindu Mahasabha and appeal for market closure

National Vice President of Hindu Mahasabha Dr. Jaiveer Bhardwaj said that an appeal has been made to close the market of Lashkar area of ​​​​Gwalior by 1 pm on Sunday. He claimed that about 80 percent of the traders have supported this appeal. Despite the protest, the city police has made tight security arrangements and assured not to let the peace and image of the city be spoiled.

Police preparation and security arrangements

Due to the match, the police and administration have taken strict steps regarding security arrangements. Earlier about 2,000 soldiers were deployed, but in view of the protest and increasing tension, the number of soldiers has now been increased to 4,000. Apart from this, the height of the boundary wall of the stadium has also been increased so that no anti-social elements can enter inside. Triple layer security arrangements have been made on the route of the Bangladeshi team.

Opposition to offering namaz in the mosque

On Friday, Bangladeshi cricketers had a program to offer Friday prayers at Moti Masjid in Phoolbagh, but this program was canceled due to the opposition of Hindu Mahasabha. After this, Shahar Qazi went to the hotel and made the Bangladeshi players offer namaz.

Support of Bajrang Dal

Bajrang Dal National President Neeraj Dauneria also reached Gwalior in protest. Attacking the BCCI, he said that organizing a cricket match between India and Bangladesh at this time is reprehensible. This match is being organized at the wrong time due to the atrocities being committed against Hindus in Bangladesh. He also raised questions on the barbarity being done with Hindus in Bangladesh.

Parking arrangement

To facilitate parking during the match, MPCA and GDCA have created 13 parking spaces in collaboration with a private agency. Of these, 7 parking are reserved for four-wheelers and 6 for two-wheelers. Four-wheelers will be charged Rs 100 and two-wheelers Rs 50 for parking. Light, water, washroom and CCTV facilities have been provided at all parking spaces.

History of protest

The controversy started when the India-Bangladesh T20 match was announced in Gwalior in August 2024. Soon after, the Hindu Mahasabha started protesting against this match. On August 14, the organization wrote a letter in blood to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding the cancellation of this match.
