The move is being seen as a precautionary measure with schools reopening from Monday. The state government had declared a holiday in schools in the wake of the hijab-saffron shawl controversy. This order will remain in force from 6 am on February 14 to 6 pm on February 19.The District Superintendent of Police had requested Deputy Commissioner M Kurma Rao to impose Section 144 within a radius of 200 meters around the high schools. According to the order, the gathering of five or more people will be prohibited within this radius of the schools. There will be a ban on demonstrations and rallies. There will be a strict ban on raising slogans, singing songs or giving speeches.Bommai exudes confidence that peace will be restored once high schools reopenKarnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday exuded confidence that peace and normalcy would be restored, a day before the reopening of high schools up to class 10 across the state.
