Bihar - Monsoon session of Bihar Vidhan Sabha is starting from today, which will last for five days till June 30.
Bihar: The Monsoon session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly is starting from Friday, which will last for five days till June 30. The focus of the government will be on supplementary budget and legislative work. But on the agenda of many opposition parties including RJD, the proposal to withdraw the Agneepath scheme of reinstatement in the army is to be passed unanimously by the House. Tejashwi Yadav's RJD wants the resolution to withdraw the Agneepath scheme from the House to be passed unanimously, which is unlikely.
In the House, the opposition will surround the Nitish government and the BJP-JDU alliance by demanding the passage of the proposal to return to Agneepath. If this proposal comes, it will be a challenge to strike a balance for the JDU, which has repeatedly demanded a reconsideration of the scheme from the Narendra Modi government. BJP will openly oppose such a proposal of the opposition and will not allow it to be passed at any cost. It will be interesting to see what kind of stand JDU takes on this proposal in the assembly.RJD's senior MLA Bhai Virendra has said that in the monsoon session, we are going to demand that a unanimous resolution should be passed by the assembly to withdraw the Agneepath scheme. He said that RJD is against this scheme and he wants the central government to withdraw this scheme.Congress Legislature Party leader Ajit Sharma has also said that his party will register a strong protest against the scheme and demand its immediate withdrawal. Sharma said his party would take up the matter on June 27. He said that like agricultural laws, the government will have to withdraw this scheme. The CPI-ML, a constituent of the Grand Alliance, is at odds with the RJD's demand for the Assembly to pass the resolution. Party's state secretary Kunal said that his MLA is with RJD's demand for the House to pass a resolution to withdraw the Agneepath scheme. He said that the ruling JDU has also expressed objection to this scheme.
