Murder case will be filed against police officers in Anand Pal case, Court rejected CBI's closure report

Anandpal Encounter Case: Murder case will be filed against 5 police officers who encountered gangster Anandpal. The court has taken cognizance against them and ordered prosecution and investigation under section 302 of murder. The court has also rejected the CBI's closure report. The ACJM CBI court has ordered prosecution against the then Churu SP Rahul Barhat, then Additional SP Vidya Prakash Chaudhary, DSP Suryaveer Singh Rathore, RAC Head Constable Kailash.

Anandpal's wife presented several witnesses

On 24 June 2017, SOG encountered Anandpal in Malasar village of Churu. Questions were being raised on this since the encounter. The CBI had submitted a closure report in 2020 regarding the encounter, which was challenged by Anandpal's wife Raj Kanwar. A protest petition was filed in the ACJM court in 2020. During the hearing, several witnesses were presented in the court on behalf of Raj Kanwar in four years.

Raj Kanwar's lawyer said - this was not an encounter and Anandpal was shot one after the other from close range on the roof. The shots were from very close range, this has also been confirmed by the doctor. Many witnesses were presented in the court. On their basis, the ACJM court has taken cognizance against the police officers. The court has also ordered to present the list of witnesses on behalf of Raj Kanwar before 16 October.

Anandpal's close friend had told his whereabouts

On 3 September 2015, Anandpal was taken to Didwana court in Nagaur district for hearing. While returning, his younger brother Vicky alias Rupesh came armed with his companions. They fired indiscriminately on the police vehicle in a filmy style and took Anandpal away. SOG was looking for both the brothers and his gang since then.

Two years later in 2017, SOG got a big success when it caught Vicky and Anandpal's close friend Devendra alias Gattu from Sirsa in Haryana. SOG interrogated both of them for a long time, but they did not say anything. The team threatened to encounter both of them. Gattu broke down on this. He was the one who told the then IG of SOG team Dinesh MN about Anandpal's whereabouts.

On 24 June 2017, the team reached Shravan's house in Malasar, Churu, the place where Gattu had mentioned. The police completely surrounded that house at night. When the police started firing, Anandpal died during the retaliatory firing.
