Ahmed Murtaza Abbasi, accused of attacking soldiers (PAC jawans) deployed in the security of Gorakhnath temple, was produced by the ATS team in Gorakhpur court on Saturday. Murtaza's remand was ending on Saturday afternoon. Tightening the noose on Murtaza Abbasi, the ATS has increased the UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) in the case. After hearing the arguments of the prosecution, the court transferred Murtaza's case to ATS court, Lucknow and sent him to 14 days judicial custody.

At the same time, there was talk of taking custody of eight people including Murtaza's parents, servant, which has been denied by the ATS.

According to the information, on April 3, Murtaza Abbasi attacked the security personnel posted at the Gorakhnath temple. Along with registering a case against him at Gorakhnath police station, on April 4, he was presented in the court and remand was sought. The police had got Murtaza on remand till April 11 for questioning. Meanwhile, on April 5, the case was transferred to the ATS and Mortaza came in the custody of the ATS. On April 11, the ATS produced him in the court and sought extension of his remand.

The court extended Mortaza's remand for five days. In this way, ATS got Mortaza on remand till April 16. For two days, ATS interrogated Murtaza in Gorakhpur and took him to Lucknow on Wednesday night. Now Mortaza has been produced again in the court on Saturday.
