The identities of these pilots were kept confidential ever since the PM announced the country's first manned space mission Gaganyaan in 2018.All four pilots are continuously trainingAccording to ISRO sources, 4 people serving as test pilots in the Indian Air Force and serving on the post of Wing Commander or Group Captain were selected for this mission. All four are continuously training for this mission. According to ISRO sources, Prasanjit Nair, Angad Pratap, Ajit Krishnan and Chauhan (full name is not available yet) are the 4 test pilots who have been selected by ISRO for its Gaganyaan mission.PM will meet at Vikram Sarabhai Space CenterActually, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is reaching Vikram Sarabhai Space Center in Thiruvananthapuram today and there the Prime Minister will meet these pilots publicly for the first time and hand over the astronauts' badges to them. After this test, the first level selection was completed in September 2019. After this only 12 pilots could make it to it.Pilots also got trained in RussiaIn the beginning of 2020, the last four out of these 12 pilots were selected, who were sent to Russia for astronaut training. Although his training was delayed due to Corona, his training was completed in Russia in the year 2021, after which his physical and technical training is continuing with the Armed Forces of the country and in different institutes of ISRO. ISRO has conducted Human Space Flight in Bengaluru. A center has also been built where pilots are taking special training in the Astronaut Training Facility.
