Navjot singh sidhu attack on amarinder singh says i am not a showpiece

New Delhi: The ongoing political tussle in the Punjab Congress is proving to be a new problem for the party. Many party leaders are taking a rebellious stand against Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. Now former cricketer and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has opened a front against Captain. Sidhu has been showing a tough attitude against Amarinder Singh for a long time.

'Use me to win elections'

Former MP Navjot Singh Sidhu on Sunday said that he is not just a showpiece used to win elections, Times of India reported. He said that he does not want to take any post in the party and the state government. He, however, insisted that he had faith in the Congress high command.

Sidhu said that he is ready to support the Captain government without any greed, but in such a situation, the government will have to implement the agenda necessary for the general public. If the government fails to do so, they do not need any post.

The former cricketer said that these people only want to use me to win elections but why would I be ready to work in such a system. Sidhu said that it is better that I work alone and not just be a sight horse or showpiece.

Targeting the Captain

On the possibilities of becoming Deputy CM or State Congress Chief in Punjab, Sidhu said that these people cannot let you work in peace. I have refused to accept all such offers. On his rebellious attitude, Sidhu said that if the system will reject my demands made for the benefit of the public, then I reject such a system.

Sidhu also targeted Captain on the issue of giving jobs to the sons of two Congress MLAs. He said that this is against the dignity and spirit of the Constitution and what qualifications were fixed for it? He said that my family has set an example in such a case. Sidhu said that if consolation is the only measure, then who should have benefited from it.
