Nepali Sherpa Kami Rita broke her own record, climbed Mount Everest for the 26th time

Kami Rita Sherpa, 52, a Nepalese mountaineer, has again broken her own record for the summit of Mount Everest. He has succeeded in conquering the world's highest peak for the 26th time. He is the second highest man in the world to climb Mount Everest.

D Sherpa, manager of Seven Summit Treks Pvt Ltd, said Kami Rita and her group of 11 associates scaled the peak at 8,848.86 meters at around 7 pm local time on Saturday.

Sherpas also undertook an expedition to fix ropes along the trekking route to help the climbers ahead of the mountaineering beginning in May, he said. This year Nepal's tourism department has issued permits to 316 people to climb the summit of Everest. Whereas, last year while the last 408 people were issued permits, which was the highest.

Rita first scaled Everest on May 13, 1994. Apart from Everest, Rita Godwin-Austen (K2) has also successfully climbed the mountain peaks Lhotse, Manaslu and Cho Oyu.
