West Bengal : In view of Omicron's situation, West Bengal has imposed several restrictions related to the corono virus disease (Covid-19) from January 3 (Monday), under which all schools and colleges in the state will once again be closed. Apart from this, various restrictions have also been imposed on shopping malls, market complexes, restaurants and bars. Shopping malls, market complexes, restaurants and bars will now function with only 50 per cent of their total capacity.The preventive measures were announced by the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal on Sunday by state chief secretary HK Dwivedi. He said in the order that all schools, colleges, universities, spas, salons, beauty parlors, swimming pools, zoos and amusement parks will remain closed in West Bengal from Monday, January 3, 2022.New Covid-19 restrictions imposed in West Bengal- All government and private offices will operate at 50 percent capacity; All administrative meetings will be conducted through virtual mode from now on.In West Bengal, local trains will run with 50 percent capacity till 7 pm. No local train will be allowed to run after 7 pm. However, all long distance trains will continue to run as usual.All the tourist places of West Bengal will be closed from tomorrow i.e. Monday.Flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Kolkata will be allowed only on two days of the week - Monday and Friday.All religious, cultural and social gatherings in the state will have to ensure that they allow a maximum of 50 people.- Shopping malls and market complexes will not allow restricted entry of people i.e. more than 50 percent of the capacity at a time and can remain open till 10 pm.Restaurants and bars can operate at a time with 50 per cent capacity and till 10 pm. Similar restrictions and timings will be applicable for cinema halls and cinema halls as well.Meetings and conferences will be allowed at a time with a maximum of 200 people or 50 per cent of the hall's seating capacity, whichever is less.Not more than 50 persons will be allowed in marriage related functions.Not more than 20 persons will be allowed to attend the funeral.Kolkata Metro services will operate with 50 per cent seating capacity as per normal operating hours.Movement of people and vehicles and any kind of public gatherings will be restricted between 10 pm to 5 am. Only essential and emergency services will be allowed.
