Rajasthan News: There will be an investment of Rs 1.60 lakh crore for the development of energy sector in Rajasthan. CM Bhajanlal Sharma signed 5 MoUs and 1 Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between state government power corporations and central undertakings for new projects of thermal and renewable energy (Akshaya Urja) production. Union Power and Renewable Energy Minister RK Singh, who joined the video conference in the program held at CMO, said - there will be no power crisis in Rajasthan now. There is good availability of coal in the country. Will not allow coal crisis to occur in Rajasthan. He said- Start an additional unit in Rajasthan, you will get full support from the Centre. When Rajasthan becomes a leader in the renewable energy sector in the country, it will be able to sell electricity across the country.Loan of Rs 1 lakh 39 thousand 200 crore on power companiesMoUs and PPAs were signed between 3 power corporations and 6 central undertakings of the state for power generation of more than 31 thousand 825 MW and development of energy sector in Rajasthan. Along with CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, Deputy CM Diya Kumari, Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar and Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant were also present in the MOU program. Union Coal Minister Prahlad Joshi joined through video conference.CM Bhajanlal said- Due to the wrong policies of the previous government, mismanagement of the energy department and power companies, there was a continuous power crisis in the state. In the year 2022-23, the government generation company was working with about 55 percent power generation capacity. To provide electricity, one has to purchase expensive electricity from the exchange. Due to purchase of electricity worth more than Rs 3 thousand 700 crore from the exchange in the year 2022-23, additional financial burden has fallen on the treasury. At present, there is a debt of more than Rs 1 lakh 39 thousand 200 crore on all power companies, including about Rs 88 thousand 700 crore on Discoms.CM said- There was a coal crisis in the state. We spoke to Coal Minister Prahlad Joshi. After his assurance, there will be no coal crisis in the state. In the coming time, Rajasthan will emerge as a state with surplus in the electricity sector.Bought expensive electricity for five yearsEnergy Minister Hiralal Nagar said- In the last 5 years, the power plants of our state were facing the crisis of coal. For 5 years we had to buy expensive electricity in the state. Earlier Rajasthan was getting coal at higher rates. We had to spend 40% more on this. After talking to the Coal Ministry, the PM has assured to make it available at the fixed rate. Now our state will be able to become self-sufficient in electricity.Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari said- Rajasthan was earlier called a state with power crisis. Now the state is going to become a leading state in the energy sector.MoU with which company for which projectRajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) entered into agreement with NTPC for 1600 MW coal based project and NTPC Green Energy Limited for 25000 MW solar/wind project at Chhabra Thermal Power Project.
RVUNL also signed MoU with Coal India Limited for a total of 4100 MW projects including 1600 MW pit head coal based project, 2250 MW solar project, 200 MW hydro-electric pumped storage project and 50 MW wind project.RVUNL MoU was also signed with NLC India Limited for 125 MW Pit Head Lignite based project and 1000 MW Solar Project.Loan of Rs 20 thousand crore will be given for the development of super structureAn MoU was also signed between Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) Limited and the State Government to provide finance to various undertakings of the Rajasthan Government for the development of super structures in the state. Under this, REC Limited will provide loans worth Rs 20 thousand crore every year to various departments, undertakings, institutions and schemes of the state government. This MoU will increase projects related to electricity, water, irrigation, metro, transport and agriculture.
