Bihar - Passengers protest as Bihar MLA Mandal walks inside train wearing just underwear & vest
Patna: In a matter of extreme shame for Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, an MLA from his Janata Dal (United) party was caught on camera walking in his undergarments on a train yesterday. On Thursday night, Narendra Kumar Neeraj alias Gopal Mandal, an MLA from Gopalpur Vidhan Sabha of Bhagalpur district, was travelling in the A-1 coach of Patna-New Delhi Tejas Rajdhani Express. As soon as the train left Patna, the MLA was seen walking around in his undergarments. Even after fellow passengers protested, he was seen walking towards the toilet in the same attire.Mandal on Friday justified the incident and said that he had no choice as he fell sick within minutes of boarding the train.“The moment I boarded the train, I wanted to use the loo immediately. So I removed my kurta pyjama and took the towel on my shoulder. I did not have the time to wrap it around my waist. I was only wearing the undergarments as my stomach was upset during the journey… I won’t lie,” Mandal said.Though the Railway Protection Force was informed, no formal complaint has been lodged against the lawmaker. The MLA further elaborated on the incident and said that an individual from the adjoining compartment stopped and questioned him for “roaming naked”.“That person asked me why I roaming naked. He held my hand. He disturbed me. Then I rushed to the toilet. The moment I came out, I asked him who are you. He said I am general public. To which I questioned who does this to an MLA,” Mandal said.He also claimed that there were no women passengers in the compartment at the time.“When the police came and questioned us about the argument, I showed them my clothes. I am almost 60 years old. That man held my hand and embarrassed me. He pushed me to which I responded by abusing. Thereafter, I apologised to him,” the JD(U) MLA said.
