PM Modi Assam Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Assam, giving the first AIIMS to the North East. The Prime Minister also inaugurated three medical colleges in Nalbari, Nagaon and Kokrajhar through video conferencing. It was Prime Minister Modi who laid the foundation stone of Guwahati AIIMS in 2017. A cost of Rs 1,120 crore has been incurred in making AIIMS. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will gift a project worth Rs 14,300 crore to Assam on the occasion of Rongali Bihu.Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that on the auspicious occasion of Bihu, Assam and the entire Northeast have got AIIMS and other healthcare infrastructure projects. There has been a lot of improvement in the social infrastructure in the Northeast in the last 9 years. The Prime Minister said that we work for the people with 'Seva Bhav'. The policies, intentions and loyalty of our governments are not determined by any selfishness, but by the spirit of country first, countryman first.There will be a tertiary medical care facility with 500 beds with 24 undergraduate departments in three medical colleges. Apart from these, there will be 100 MBBS seats here, and with this the total MBBS seats in Assam will be 1500. On his Assam tour, Prime Minister Modi will start distribution of 1.1 crore Ayushman cards, through which beneficiaries can avail cashless health facility up to Rs 5 lakh.PM to participate in Platinum Celebrations of Gauhati High CourtThe Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of the Assam Advanced Healthcare Innovation Institute (AAHII), a joint initiative of the Government of Assam and IIT Guwahati. Rs 546 crore will be spent on this project. After the completion of these programs, the Prime Minister will leave for Shrimant Sankardeva Kalakshetra, where he will attend the closing ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Gauhati High Court.PM's program at Surasajai StadiumAfter this, the Prime Minister will reach Surasajai Stadium in Guwahati for a public function at 5 pm, where he will see the dance of more than 10,000 Bihu dancers. During this, PM Modi will start various other projects including the foundation stone of 500 TPD menthol plant. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of a bridge over the Brahmaputra river connecting Palashbari and Sualkuchi and dedicate five rail projects to the nation.
