The share of expenditure on defense procurement from other countries has declined from 46 per cent in 2018-19 to 36.7 per cent by December 2022.Indian companies sold weapons worth more than Rs 70 thousand croresAccording to a report, under the Make in India Initiative, Indian defense manufacturers have sold weapons worth Rs 70,500 crore, the most important of which is the BrahMos missile. Apart from these, Indian companies have also manufactured electronic warfare systems for the Navy and helicopters for maritime operations.
