Chief Fire Tender Officer Prashant Ranpase said that around 9:30 pm, there was a call about the fire incident in Fashion Street. The fire in the market was quite frightening.He said that 16 fire engines and 50 firefighter personnel and 10 officers were present to control the fire. The fire could be controlled with great difficulty. He said that the flames in the fashion street of Pune were so high that it could be seen from any corner of the city. The fire could be controlled around 1:10 pm. The goods in the market were completely burnt in the fire.The brother of a fashion street shopkeeper told India Today that on Friday, shopkeepers keep merchandise in their shops for weekend sales. Earlier, a fire incident had also surfaced in Shivaji Market in which 25 shops were burnt to ashes.Earlier on Thursday, an incident of fire was also reported at Sunrise Hospital in Mumbai. The hospital was located on the third floor of a mall. Nine people died in this incident. More than 20 vehicles of the fire brigade reached the spot to control the fire. The fire started around 11:30 late in the night.
