USA - Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip didn't discuss Archie's skin colour: Oprah
New York: Oprah's bombshell interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has managed to create a rippling effect across the UK. One of the biggest statements that has left netizens and the public at large shocked was when Meghan revealed that members of the royal family discussed their child's skin colour before Archie's arrival. Meghan, however, did not reveal who was behind this conversation citing that it would be "very damaging" to them. Post the interview, Oprah appeared on CBS This Morning and revealed that it was one of the two statements that left her in utter shock during the interview. The other being Meghan's deteriorating mental health and when she said she felt like not living anymore. However, during her chat with CBS news anchors, Oprah revealed that Prince Harry later clarified to her off camera that remarks on Archie's skin colour were not made by Queen Elizabeth or Prince Philip. "(Harry) did not share the identity with me, but he wanted to make sure that I knew, and if I had the opportunity to share it, that it was not his grandmother or his grandfather that were part of those conversations,” Oprah told Gayle King who was hosting the show. She added, “I tried to get that answer on camera and off." During the interview, Meghan had said, "In those months that I was pregnant…we had in tandem the conversation that he won't be given security. He’s not gonna be given a title. And also, concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born." Oprah was naturally shocked by Meghan's statement and replied saying, "WHAT? There’s a conversation with you about how dark your baby is going to be?” To which the Duchess replied, "Potentially, and what that would mean or look like."
