Rahul Gandhi Nyay Yatra: After Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana, Rahul Gandhi has now started preparations for the Delhi elections. The Congress party has announced a "Nyay Yatra" from October 23 to strengthen its presence in Delhi, which will be held in four phases. Rahul Gandhi will lead this yatra and will be accompanied by Priyanka Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. During the yatra, the Congress is preparing to launch a scathing attack on the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Four phases of Nyay YatraCongress's Nyay Yatra will be held in four phases, which are as follows:
- First phase: October 23 to 28
- Second phase: November 4 to 10
- Third phase: November 12 to 18
- Fourth phase: November 20 to 28
During this yatra, rallies and meetings will be organized in different parts of Delhi, in which BJP and AAP will be attacked. Keeping the festivals in mind, the program of the yatra has been prepared so that it can reach as many people as possible.
Attack on BJPThe Congress party has decided that it will make the failures of the BJP MPs, who won three times in a row, a major election issue in Delhi. The party says that the BJP MPs of Delhi have failed to fulfill their promises, and the BJP has not made any significant contribution to the development of Delhi. Congress will raise this failure loudly in front of the public.
Remembrance of Sheila Dikshit governmentThe Congress party will remind the tenure of the Sheila Dikshit government during its yatra, which is considered the golden period of development. Congress claims that at that time development work in Delhi had accelerated, whereas at present the development of Delhi is stalled. The party will emphasize that the feud between the BJP and the AAP has hindered the development of Delhi. Congress will also make the confrontation between the Modi government, the Lieutenant Governor (LG), and Arvind Kejriwal an election issue.
Attack on AAP: Liquor policy and corruptionCongress will also directly attack AAP and Kejriwal government. The party will raise the issues of liquor policy and corruption loudly. AAP government will be described as 'Junjhuna Sarkar', in which big promises are made but no concrete work is done on the ground. According to Congress, Kejriwal government has promoted corruption and anti-development activities in Delhi. The party has decided that it will not form any alliance with AAP in Delhi on the lines of Punjab and Haryana.
A dozen exhibitions and case studiesCongress party is planning to set up about a dozen exhibitions during its campaign in Delhi to show the failures of AAP government to the public. Through these exhibitions, corruption, anti-development policies and failures of Kejriwal government will be exposed. Along with this, the party will also present case studies in front of the public, so that people can be told how AAP's policies have harmed Delhi.
AAP will remain in India allianceHowever, the Congress has made it clear that even though elections will be fought against AAP in Delhi, AAP will remain a part of India alliance in central politics. This is a clear indication that the Congress sees AAP as a political rival in Delhi, while feeling the need for an alliance to maintain opposition unity at the Center.
Assembly elections in 2025The term of the Delhi Assembly ends in February 2025. However, the Election Commission has the power to fix the dates of elections earlier if needed. Kejriwal had earlier also demanded early elections. This visit can be important for the Congress for the upcoming elections, as it is preparing to challenge both the BJP and the AAP.
