Rajasthan's losing streak is not stopping - Punjab Kings won the match by 5 wickets

RR vs PBKS: Punjab Kings defeated Rajasthan Royals by 5 wickets in the 65th match of IPL-2024. Punjab has won the 5th match in the season. The team has scored 10 points. On the other hand, Rajasthan, which had reached the playoffs, lost its fourth consecutive match.

Captain Sam Curran, Harshal Patel and Rahul Chahar got two wickets each from Punjab. Nathan Ellis and Arshdeep Singh got one wicket each.

Punjab got the target of 145 runs

Punjab Kings restricted Rajasthan to 144 runs for nine wickets on the basis of excellent performance by the bowlers. Rajasthan won the toss and decided to bat first, but their batting was very poor. Riyan Parag scored 48 runs for Rajasthan, on the basis of which the team was successful in crossing the score of 140 runs. For Punjab, captain Sam Curran, Harshal Patel and Rahul Chahar took two wickets each and prevented Rajasthan from scoring big.

The batting of Rajasthan team, which has already qualified for the playoffs, remained poor for the second consecutive match. Parag once again took up the responsibility and made a half-century partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin for the fourth wicket. This was the highest partnership of this match for Rajasthan. After Ashwin's dismissal, no other Rajasthan batsman could support Parag. Parag also lost his wicket in the last over and missed scoring a half-century.
