'Remal' is coming with devastation, Bengal on high alert, airport closed, trains cancelled

West Bengal News: Due to the impact of cyclonic storm 'Remal', heavy rains started in the coastal areas of West Bengal. The Meteorological Department says that Remal is moving northwards over the Bay of Bengal. Remal is now located 160 km south-east of Sagardweep in West Bengal. Remal is located 190 km south and southeast of Canning and 220 km south of Mongla in Bangladesh. On Sunday night, it will hit Mongla in Khepupara of Bangladesh and Sagardweep in West Bengal. At that time its speed will be 110 to 120 km per hour. Temporarily high wind speed can reach 135 km.

In view of the cyclone, high alert has been issued in Bengal. The airport was closed for 21 hours and hundreds of trains were cancelled. Due to the impact of this cyclone, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in North and South 24 Parganas, Kolkata, East Midnapore, Howrah, Hooghly. There is red alert in these districts.

Very heavy rain is expected at some places in both 24 Parganas and East Midnapore. Orange alert has been issued. There is a possibility of more than 20 cm of rain in these areas. Orange alert has been issued in West Medinipur, Nadia, East Burdwan.

Chances of heavy rain in these districts of Bengal

There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in Nadia and Murshidabad on Monday. Orange alert of heavy to very heavy rain has been issued in Kolkata, Howrah, 24 Parganas, Hooghly, Birbhum, East Burdwan. Yellow warning of heavy rain has been issued in the remaining districts of South Bengal.

There is a possibility of strong winds at a speed of 100 to 120 km per hour along with rain in both 24 Parganas on Sunday. Wind speed can reach 70 to 80 km per hour in Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly and East Midnapore. The maximum speed of the storm may temporarily be 90 km per hour.

Apart from this, strong winds may also blow in Nadia and East Burdwan, but their speed will be relatively less. Its speed can be 40 to 50 km per hour. On Monday, wind speed in Nadia and Murshidabad may increase to 60 to 70 km per hour. The speed of the storm can be 40 to 50 km per hour in Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, Birbhum, East Burdwan.

Winds will blow at high speed

Due to the impact of the cyclone, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in Maldah, South Dinajpur on Monday. Orange alert has been issued. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Cooch Behar, North Dinajpur, Jalpaiguri also. Yellow alert has been issued. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar on Tuesday.

There may be heavy to very heavy rain in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Dinajpur. There is a possibility of strong winds at the speed of 35 to 45 km per hour in Malda and Dinajpur on Monday and Tuesday. Nine disaster relief teams have been kept on standby in Haldia, Fraserganj in West Bengal and Paradip and Gopalpur in Odisha to deal with any emergency.
