The remand of the five accused has been completed in connection with the theft of jewelery worth crores from the lockers of Central Bank of India located in Karachikhana. The police have recovered 991.11 grams of gold ornaments on the spot of four of the accused taken into custody. For recovery of the remaining ornaments, the police will apply on Monday to remand the accused again.The police arrested the then manager Ram Prasad, locker in-charge Shubham Malviya, locker mechanic Chandraprakash, his accomplice Karan and Rajesh and sent them to jail. Later, the court had granted the police custody remand of the five accused for six days (April 16 to April 22). The focus of the police was more on the recovery of goods. On the spot of the accused, the police had also picked up six jewelers for questioning. Meanwhile, the police also arrested Ramesh, brother of the sixth accused, who is absconding. After the jewelery was recovered from the accused, the theft section has also been increased in these cases.The accused had sold the jewelers as ancestral jewelryThe police have recovered about one kilogram of jewelery from the possession of six jewelers. According to the police, the accused had sold the jewelers on the pretext of ancestral jewellery. The jewelers had also bought jewelry without any investigation. The question arises that the ornaments were ancestral, so why did the jewelers buy them for a penny and why did the accused also sell them at a low price?
