The telly soap clocks 27 years and Rohit Roy Bose remembers his debut fondly with a throwback picture. The actor just took to his social media and wrote, “This is where it all began!!! We wanted to have a huge reunion party but Covid rained on our parade...But the pandemic cannot wipe out our fantastic memories! #rishabhmalhotra #25yearsofswabhimaan...Thank you all for the love you have shown me through the years...Will try and put a different picture from Swabhimaan every week all this month”
Swaabhimaan divulges the story of an attractive woman - Svetlana - who finds herself in a battle where there are no real winners. Insecurity, suspicion and fear threaten to erode her vivacious spirit as she struggles to come to terms with her position. The serial was aired from 1995 to 1997. It was the first Indian TV show to complete 500 episodes. The show ended on the final episode, where most villains getting killed or jailed.
Meanwhile on the work front, Rohit Roy is busy Mumbai Saga, an action thriller helmed by Sanjay Gupta and produced by T-Series. It is a gangster drama and stars an ensemble cast of John Abraham, Emraan Hashmi, Jackie Shroff, Kajal Aggarwal, Suniel Shetty, Prateik Babbar, Pankaj Tripathi, Amole Gupte, Samir Soni, Gulshan Grover and Sharman Joshi.
Set in the 1980s and 1990s, the story shows changing faces of Mumbai people by closing mills to make malls and high rise buildings. Production of the film was halted due to COVID-19, and is scheduled to resume in June 2020.
