The Prime Minister's Relief Fund (PM Care Fund), created to provide relief during any kind of disaster or epidemic, received a collection of Rs 10,990 crore during the financial year 2020-21, while if we talk about the expenditure, according to a report. Only Rs 3,976 crore was spent from this fund. That is, one-third of the collection was spent in providing relief. The fund had a balance of Rs 7,044 crore as on March 31, 2021.Details on PM Cares websiteA report released in this regard said that during the financial year (2020-21) about Rs 494.91 crore was received in the PM Care Fund as foreign donations. At the same time, more than Rs 7,183 crore has come in the form of voluntary contribution. A total of Rs 3,076.62 crore was received during 2019-20 within just five days of the formation of this fund on 27 March 2020. Explain that this fund was established to deal with any kind of emergency or crisis situation such as arising out of the Kovid-19 epidemic, and to provide relief to the affected. This fund was created with an initial amount of Rs 2.25 lakh. According to information shared on the website of PM Cares, a part of the money raised by the central government has also been used to buy medical equipment including ventilators, strengthen the fight against Kovid-19 and provide relief to the migrants. According to this, out of the amount deposited in PM Care Fund, Rs 201.58 crore was spent on oxygen plants in public health institutions, Rs 20.4 crore for upgradation of laboratories working on Kovid vaccine.
