Leading actress Rubina Dilaik recently invited Gazal to her podcast, and she was impressed with the work-and-home balance founder of Leafoberryy has managed to strike.
In a world where balancing work and family can be challenging, Gazal Kothari's journey stands out as a testament to determination, resilience, and the power of self-belief. As the founder of Leafoberryy, a successful skincare brand, Gazal has not only built a thriving business but has also managed to prioritize her family and personal well-being along the way.
Talking about her work life and venturing into solo entrepreneurial projects, Gazal said, “I was managing my mother's educational institution, where I honed my management skills, but craved work satisfaction. It was not until my daughter, Neezal, inspired me to take better care of my skin, that I found my true calling. Despite the challenges of balancing motherhood and pursuing my calling, I enrolled in skincare formulation courses, often juggling classes with caring for my daughter, myself, family, and social obligations”.
The lockdown further fueled Gazal's determination to turn her passion into a successful business. With the unwavering support of her husband and mother-in-law, she began making skincare products at home. What started as a small venture soon grew beyond her expectations, with her products gaining popularity on platforms like Amazon. “My daughter is so impressed by my success that she has already announced that she will take care of business when she grows up.”
Managing her home, child, and business is
not an easy feat, but Gazal has found a way to make it work. She said, “It is
manageable. What she did was to put a calendar everywhere, whether it was a
meal planner or work planner. It has everything written on it, from meal
planning to the daughter's rating on her behavior with the maid, whether she
picked up her stuff or not, and weekly she gives rewards for the good points
she gained. That way, she is also excited and looks forward to getting
rewarded. She even keeps an open channel for communication, where her daughter
feels safe to tell about her feelings, so she understands and feels that her
daughter is being heard.”
Hearing that, Rubina was floored and said, “I am impressed with your micro-managing skills. It is amazing”.
Gazal Kothari's journey is a shining example of what can be achieved with passion, perseverance, and a strong support system. Her story serves as an inspiration to budding entrepreneurs and working mothers alike, showing that with dedication and determination, nothing is impossible.
