Thailand Bus Accident: 25 students have died in a school bus fire in Thailand. According to news agency AFP, there were 44 people on the bus, out of which 16 have been admitted to the hospital. Currently, rescue workers are trying to rescue the remaining children. The reason for the fire has not been revealed yet. However, eyewitnesses present on the spot say that the fire broke out due to the tire bursting of the bus. According to Reuters, the accident took place in Khu Khot area of Bangkok at around 12:30 pm on Tuesday. The bus was returning from a school trip.Children from the age of 3 to 15 years were present in the bus. Apart from this, 5 teachers were also travelling with them. According to BBC, the driver of the bus is absconding and efforts are being made to find him.Transport Minister said - the bus was running on CNGThailand's Prime Minister Pyitongtarn Shinawatra has expressed condolences to the families of the children who lost their lives in the accident. He has ordered the Transport Minister to visit the spot and take stock of the situation.The country's Home Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said that even after the rescue workers arrived, the bus was so hot that it was very difficult to go inside it. Because of this, the bodies were in the bus for a long time after the accident. The deceased have not been identified yet.Thailand's Transport Minister said that the bus was running on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). This is a very sad incident. I have asked the ministry to ban the use of fuel like CNG for such passenger vehicles and find some other alternative.Thailand is one of the worst countries in terms of road safety. Every year 20 thousand accidents occur here due to bad vehicles and wrong driving.
