Senior NCP leader Baba Siddique passes away Lilavati Hospital

NCP leader Baba Siddiqui of Maharashtra was shot dead in Mumbai. Siddiqui was shot in Bandra East, Mumbai. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital where he died. It is being told that two to three rounds of firing were done on Baba Siddiqui in which one bullet hit his chest. Lilavati Hospital has also confirmed the death of Baba Siddiqui.

Just before the Lok Sabha elections, Baba Siddiqui left Congress and joined NCP Ajit faction. He has been an MLA from Congress 3 times and has also been a minister from Bandra West. After a rift in Congress, he joined NCP in February. Now after just a few months, he has been shot dead. After the incident, the police have detained two people. It is believed that both could be shooters. The police is currently interrogating them.

Attack happened while returning from son's office

It is being told that Baba Siddiqui's son Zeeshan's office is also at a short distance from where he was shot. Zeeshan is an MLA from Bandra East. He was returning from his son's office when the attackers fired three rounds at him. After which a bullet hit his chest.

Joined NCP just before Lok Sabha elections

Baba Siddiqui left Congress in February this year and joined Ajit Pawar's NCP. After joining NCP, he had said that I am an open book, I am a family man. I do not want to speak ill of anyone. Politics of perception is going on, that is why I have left Congress.

Shiv Sena leader said Shinde has no right to remain on the post of CM

On the incident, Shiv Sena UBT leader Anand Dubey said that if former MLAs are not safe in Mumbai, who have also been ministers earlier, who are with the government, whose son is an MLA now, the lives of such people are not safe, then what security will this government provide to the common man. If you cannot keep your MLA-former minister safe, then Devendra Fadnavis ji, you should resign. Eknath Shinde has no right to remain on the post of CM of the state.

Siddique was associated with Congress since student life

Baba Siddique's full name is Baba Ziauddin Siddique. He joined the Congress party in 1977 during his student life. Baba studied from MMK College, Mumbai. After joining the Congress party, Baba was elected BMC Municipal Corporation Councilor twice in the years 1992 and 1997.

After this, Baba was MLA from Bandra West Assembly constituency thrice in 1999, 2004 and 2009. His son Zeeshan Siddique is currently a Congress MLA from Bandra East constituency and is also a leader of Mumbai Youth Congress.

Dawood threatened Baba in 2013

In 2013, underworld don Dawood called Baba and threatened him saying, I will talk to Ram Gopal Varma and get your film made, 'Ek Tha MLA'! There was a dispute between Baba Siddiqui and Ahmed Langda, who was considered close to Dawood, over a piece of land in Mumbai.

After this, Chota Shakeel threatened Baba to stay away from this case, otherwise the consequences will not be good. Baba complained about this to Mumbai Police. Police took the case seriously and arrested Ahmed Langda and imposed MCOCA on him.
