He had worked hard with the director Shekhar Kapur for the pre production of the film but the film was eventually shelved by Yash Raj Films, for reasons unknown. But now Shekhar Kapur reveals that he wants to make this film as a tribute to the late actor.Shekhkar Kapur shared the same on his twitter and wrote, "If you want to journey with the Gods, or your creativity, you have to walk each step in devotion. In humility. God willing #Paani will get made one day. If it does, I will dedicate it to Sushant. But it has to be made with partners that walk in humility, not in arrogance."Shekhar Kapur's 'Paani' depicts the scenario many years into the future, where the supply of the water on earth has run out, which results into the events and a war like situation. When the film was first announced to be made, it was Hrithik's name that came to the forefront as the lead of the film but he left the project for Ashutosh Gowariker's 'Mohenjo Daro'.Later it was revealed that Shekhar has taken the film to Hollywood but finally it was announced that Yash Raj Films was producing the film with Sushant Singh Rajput as the lead.Ever since Sushant's demise, Shekhar has been writing about how Sushant was disturbed when 'Paani' was shelved. Recently, the news came out that filmmaker Aditya Chopra, chairman of YRF, in his statement to police has revealed that the film was called off owing to creative differences with Shekhar Kapur and Sushant had nothing to do with the decision.Well, let us hope that Shekhar Kapur finds the right partner for the film and it is finally made.
