Patra Chawl Land Scam: Shiv Sena's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has got a big relief. He was granted bail by the PMLA Court in Mumbai on Wednesday. Along with Sanjay Raut, Praveen Raut has also got bail. Sanjay Raut was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in July in the Patra Chawl land scam. Raut is currently in jail in connection with Patra Chawl scam in Mumbai. On November 2, the PMLA court had extended his judicial custody for 14 days. However, the court had reserved its verdict on Raut's bail plea, which was scheduled to be pronounced today, November 9.Raut has just got immediate reliefSanjay Raut, who has been in jail for more than three months, has just got immediate relief. Raut was arrested by the ED on July 31. Raut's bail plea had to be heard several times, but each time his judicial custody was extended by the court. For the third time, his remand was extended till September 5. In this scam, the ED had registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). After this, the ED also seized Rs 11.5 lakh in search of Sanjay Raut's house. In the case in April, the ED had also attached properties worth Rs 11.15 crore of Sanjay Raut's wife Varsha Raut and their close associates.ED had filed supplementary chargesheet in the caseThe ED had filed a supplementary charge sheet in the case. In this, Sanjay Raut was made an accused in the case. The court took cognizance of the supplementary charge sheet. In this, Raut has been named as an accused in a money laundering case. Raut had moved the Special Court for Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) cases for bail.
